Manitoba Health Research Council joins CASRAI

By CASRAI

The Manitoba Health Research Council (MHRC) joins the Consortia Advancing Standards in Research Administration Information (CASRAI). MHRC is pleased to partner with CASRAI and cooperatively work towards the development of standardized research application information.

“Streamlining application standards benefits both the researcher and the administrator,” says Christina Weise, Executive Director of MHRC. “Creating an efficient system puts time and energy back into the researcher’s hands and gives the funding agency nationwide access to comparable data-sets.”

“We are pleased to have MHRC join us” says David Baker, Executive Director of CASRAI. “The leadership they are showing as part of the provincial health research community across Canada is crucial to the successful development and adoption of our data standards.”

About MHRC
The mission of the Manitoba Health Research Council, which reports to the Minister of Innovation, Energy and Mines, is to promote the growth and co-operation of the health research enterprise in Manitoba. The MHRC was established in 1982 and its mandate is to promote and assist basic, clinical and applied research in the health sciences in Manitoba and advise the minister with respect to matters relating to health research as the minister may refer to the council for its consideration. From moneys received from the Province, council provides funds for research in the health sciences through a number of grants and awards programs.
