Impact

The Research Impact Standards Committee (in consultation with its associated Review Circles) oversees the standardization of the data that capture the direct and derived impacts of research activity on capacity, knowledge and society. It also simplifies the core "indicator events" from which this data can be collected without duplication. The CASRAI data standard classifies the impacts of research under the following categories:

• Capacity Impacts: human, physical, integration, leadership.
• Knowledge Impacts: quantity & quality of direct outputs, quantity of derived outputs.
• Societal Impacts: direct & indirect economic, derived social, health, environmental and cultural.
