Animal Research Oversight & IACUC Compliance

Animal research oversight governs institutional use of live vertebrate animals in research, teaching, and testing. Oversight is centered on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), a body every US institution conducting covered animal research must convene to review and approve protocols, inspect facilities, and monitor ongoing compliance. This sub-cluster organizes material around the statutory and regulatory basis for that oversight and the administrative mechanics of running an IACUC program. Two federal frameworks anchor the space in the United States.
