Patent

A record of a patent, the exclusive legal right granted to inventors or assignees to exploit an invention for a limited time.

The Patent object records a form of intellectual property protection that grants inventors and assignees the exclusive legal right to make use of and exploit an invention, product, or process for a limited period of time.

Patent title, number, authorship, application status, and country identify the patent, while request, filing priority, issue, and term-end dates track it through the application and grant process, and a research classification situates it within the structured object model for technology transfer.
