Claim

NIKOLAI proposes to define a Claim as an atomic, identifiable assertion within a safety argument, carrying: its own supporting evidence, an optional link to a parent claim (for claims that are sub-claims of a broader argument), and an explicit aggregation rule describing how it combines with sibling claims under the same parent (e.g. conjunctive — combined strength is roughly the product of subclaim strengths; disjunctive; or convergent, where multiple independent lines of evidence support one conclusion without a strict logical operator). This operational definition is a NIKOLAI editorial proposal; it is not endorsed by, and does not purport to restate, any single cited source's own definition.
