Doctor in Santurce & Miramar: Which ER Takes Whom

The nearest confirmed pediatric ER is at Ashford Presbyterian, to the north at 1451 Ashford Ave (787-721-2160, ext. 1095–1098), which says it runs a 24-hour pediatric ER; details are on the Condado page. To the south in Hato Rey, Auxilio Mutuo (787-758-2000) lists adult ER extensions 2656 and 2696 and pediatric ER extensions 1312 and 1426; the Hato Rey, Río Piedras and Centro Médico ERs are on the San Juan residential page. Santurce's last pharmacy counters close at 8 p.m., and we could not verify any urgent care clinic or CDT in Santurce or Miramar. Work through it in this order:

La Placita (Santurce's market square, founded 1910) is a produce market by day and one of San Juan's busiest nightlife districts. Calle Loíza is another of the neighborhood's cultural hot spots, and Ponce de León Avenue began in 1810 as a military road between San Juan and Río Piedras. Miramar is an affluent district built up in the early 20th century, and the Convention Center is in Isla Grande (Wikipedia, a secondary source).

A hot night of drinks and crowds at La Placita brings the usual: dehydration, falls, cuts, an upset stomach the next day. A mild next-day complaint is something the doctor can assess by video; confusion, a head injury, or someone who won't wake properly means 911.

Ashford Presbyterian describes itself as the designated emergency hospital for the Convention Center and metro-area hotels. If someone collapses or has chest pain during an event, alert venue staff and call 911. If your employer needs proof of a visit, the doctor gives you a doctor's note after your visit, at no extra charge.
