40Tourist areas: hotels, beaches and cruise stops

San Juan metro area
For people who live here. Each guide compares the adult and children's ERs, the urgent cares that are not open 24 hours, and the pharmacy counters that close latest.

Other cities
Outside the metro area, the distance to a 24-hour pharmacy counter varies a lot from city to city.
- Aguadilla and BQN airport: Crash Boat, winter surf and, in the same guide, Isabela, Rincón and Aguada.
- Mayagüez: ERs and the latest-closing pharmacy counters on the west coast.
- Doctor in Ponce: ERs, urgent cares that close at night, and the only 24-hour pharmacy counter in the south and west.
- Arecibo: adult and children's ERs, and extended-hours urgent care.
- Caguas: dengue in 2026, ERs and the 24-hour pharmacy counter.
- Humacao and Palmas del Mar: which ERs are still open after Hope Medical Center closed.
The islands: Culebra and Vieques
Only five 24-hour pharmacy counters in Puerto Rico
A store that is open 24 hours is not a 24-hour pharmacy. According to the Walgreens store locator, the only pharmacy counters open all night on the island are the Walgreens stores in Guaynabo (2505 Carr 841), Bayamón (4699 Route 5), Caguas (101 Carr 1), Cayey (5800 Ave Jesús T. Piñero) and Ponce (2979 Ave Emilio Fagot), and all five close from 1:30 to 2 a.m. for a meal break. No Farmacias Caridad store has a 24-hour counter. Each guide tells you which one is nearest and when your local counter closes. Verified 2026-09-30; hours change, so call ahead.
Video doctor in Puerto Rico by area: the same visit everywhere on the island
The online doctor visit has the same prices, the same doctor and the same process in every area, for kids of all ages and adults. You only need to be physically in Puerto Rico during the visit; visitors and tourists are welcome. If appropriate, the doctor prescribes and we send your prescription to your pharmacy.
